In this video, Mrs Coxall teaches how to use inverted commas to write direct speech. If you would like to remind yourself about the rules of direct speech before watching this video with your child, please scroll down and check out the document called, 'Parent Help Guide: Inverted Commas'.
*Apologies for the typo on the flipchart. The last piece of direct speech should read: "I am the queen goddess," said Isis. "Protecting worshippers is my job."
We recommend that most children complete worksheet 1 and 2. If your child finds this work especially challenging, or it takes them a lot of time, then they could complete only worksheet 1. If your child would like more of a challenge, they could also complete the extension task (which is on the second page of worksheet 2).
