MUSIC CLUBS
The school has a strong and long tradition for teaching, promotion and enjoyment of music. The school runs a junior and infant choir that meet weekly and participates in several local events throughout the year. Many of the children also have individual or small group music lessons provided by Music tutors who come into school currently providing guitar, piano, violin, and brass tuition. To ensure that all children have the opportunity to experience learning a musical instrument: All the Infant classes are provided with Djembe drumming workshops in the Spring Term; Year 3 receive recorder tuition as part of the music lessons for the year; Year 4 are provided 20 weeks of group violin or trumpet lessons and at the end of these sessions there is an opportunity to continue lessons in small groups into Year 5 & 6.
Kent Music – Kent Music teachers visit the school and provide tuition on various musical instruments (currently piano, strings, woodwind and brass). Application forms are available by clicking on this link Kent Music, or calling on 01622 691212. We currently have a guitar tutor and violin tutor who visit the school once a week, we also have two piano tutors who visit the school twice a week each.

The Year 6 children perform a major production at the end of the summer term. Performances are always played to full houses and are much enjoyed.
At Christmas all of the Lower school children are involved in our Nativity plays. This is a wonderful spectacle and again much enjoyed. The Junior children perform the Carol Service at the local parish church, with readings, drama and the lighting of Christingles.
We also enjoy listening to the musical talents of our children both past and present, with a fantastic musical evening during the Summer term. The children have amazed us with their performances on clarinet, oboe, piano and violin as well as the choir.
The choir regularly visits Brambles Care Home to sing to the elderly residents. Having delighted them with Christmas music, international songs and summer hits!
The Year 6 are able to participate in a week long residential trip to France during the year. This is a fantastic trip, and one which the children remember fondly.
We have been involved in number of Wye Business Association Events, including the Christmas Street Party with the Juniors singing carols as part of the event.
