This week we have enjoyed learning our dance and song for the summer fair, which we are excited to perform on Saturday 17th! We hope lots of us will be there to perform it!
We have spent this week writing more poems that are focused on our phonics. We wrote a poem using the split vowel diagraphs and enjoyed seeing how split vowels change the sound. For instance, cap to cape and strip to stripe! We also enjoyed practising a tongue twister to consolidate our recognition of b.
In Maths we have been working with numbers up to 100. We were comparing different numbers, between 50 and 100, and using the inequality signs to show this (< > =). We also found one more and one less than a given number up to 100 too, we had so much fun and enjoyed the challenge.
In Science we were so excited to fill in the next week of our sunflower diaries! So many of our flowers and rapidly grown over the last week. We even have a sunflower that is now 18cm and it’s only 4 weeks old!
In PE we learnt the technique to jump over hurdles. Miss Hayward was so impressed with how quickly we learnt this skill, and how well we mastered the hurdles. We had a hurdle race at the end of PE, and no one knocked any down!
We have started to practise our class assembly, which we are very excited to show you all next Friday!
A HUGE well done to all of Hedgehogs for the resilience that they have shown throughout this week, they have finished their Phonics Screener and all have done very well and made all of the adults in class very proud!
