Lady Joanna Thornhill (Endowed) Primary School

Learning for the Head, Heart and Hand

Week 1

This week we have been learning all about the Titanic in English and enjoying finding out lots of interesting facts about it, all ready to write up our reports for a newspaper article. In Science, we looked at the cross-section of a flower and then dissected one ourselves and labelled the different parts, from the stigma to the anther, to the receptacle to the filament! Part of our PE this week is to learn a dance to perform at the summer fayre. Hopefully, lots of Swifts and Puffins will join in on the day!

The children will be given their new spellings which are stuck in their homework books. If someone at home could help them learn these that would be great. They are saved on our Year 5 page under 'Spellings'.

Our achievement assemblies will be held on a Monday from now on.

Best wishes,

Miss Weller.
