Congratulations!
Well done to Mia, Charlie and Harlow for finishing their 5 Star reader cards this week!
Road Safety
In the last couple of weeks we have had a visit fro KCC to discuss road safety. Year 1 and Year 5 have been trialing a new way of learning about road safety - using tablets and VR. We had great fun using these and learnt a lot. Thank you to David and Dave who came in and taught us.
In English this week, we have been writing a witness statement from the point of view of Frederick Fleet (the lookout from the Titanic). We described his experience of when the ship crashed against the iceberg.
In Reading Practice, we finished reading from Via and Summer's perspective in Wonder, and are now reading from Jack Will's perspective.
In maths, we have been learning about lines of symmetry, reflection and how to translate shapes into different places on a grid.
Some children from our year group went to Ashford International Hotel to take part in Hackathon. They had to create a way to improve mental and physical well-being in school. They had to pitch their idea which they did through a PowerPoint presentation and create a theme tune, logo and slogan. Amazingly, they came in the top three of the schools who took part and won £1000 for our school to make this vision a reality!
In music we have been learning to sing along to play the guitar to 'We don't talk about Bruno'.
Today in DT, we will start to make our totems poles which are a representation of us!
