Assessment Procedures and Calendar
Foundation Stage
- Term 1: Information has been acquired prior to the child starting school via:
➢ Consultations
➢ Visits and discussions with nursery/pre-school
➢ Early Years Transfer Records- completed by nurseries and playgroups
A Baseline Assessment is carried out in the first 3 weeks. Teachers will begin to complete the Foundation Stage Profile. There will also be a:
Phonic check; Language Link screening; Speech Link Screening
- Term 2-6: EYFS Termly Tracker and scores recorded. Analysis completed by class teachers and reported to the Early Years Leader. Little Wandle Assessment are conducted.
- Term 6: EYFS Early Learning Goals report completed.
Year 1
- Term 1: end of year target setting
- Term 1-6: Little Wandle Assessment and Fluency assessment (where appropriate)
- Term 2, 4 and 6: Data collection
Term 6 - National Phonics Screener carried out
Year 2
- Term 1: end of year target setting
- Term 1-6: Little Wandle Assessment and Fluency assessment (where appropriate)
- Term 2, 4 and 6: Data collection
- Term 6: Optional KS1 SATs
Year 3
- Term 1: end of year target setting and language link screener
- Term 1, 3 and 5: AR Star Reader test
- Term 2, 4 and 6: Data collection
- Term 6: NFER Reading, Maths and Spelling tests
Year 4
- Term 1: end of year target setting
- Term 1, 3 and 5: AR Star Reader test
- Term 2, 4 and 6: Data collection
- Term 6: NFER Reading, Maths and Spelling tests and National Multiplication test
Year 5
- Term 1: end of year target setting
- Term 1, 3 and 5: AR Star Reader test
- Term 2, 4 and 6: Data collection
- Term 5: CATs tests
- Term 6: NFER Reading, Maths and Spelling tests
Year 6
- Term 1: end of year target setting
- Term 1, 3 and 5: AR Star Reader test
- Term 2, 4 and 6: Data collection
- Term 5: National SATs tests
- Throughout Year 6, the children will sit previous SATs papers.
