Food Bank & Hygiene Bank

Food Bank and Hygiene Bank

One of our school values is compassion and we encourage our children and community to support others who might be in need.  On the last Friday of each month we hold a Food and Hygiene Bank event, for parents to donate items to our chosen charity, The Family Food Bank www.familyfoodbank.org, who are a local charity that create boxes to support people in Kent and Medway facing financial hardship or changes in personal circumstances.

The standard Food boxes they create aim to support a family of 4 for 5 days.  Other boxes available from them include

  • Baby Boxes
  • Homeless Boxes
  • Limited cooking facility Boxes
  • Personal Hygiene Boxes
  • Pet Food Boxes

Should you need to access this support yourself, you can go to their distribution page to find out how to access their service by clicking here.  We do also collect items for our direct school community and, if anyone is need and would welcome a confidential conversation, please do contact Mrs Read either by telephoning the school or emailing her at j.read@ladyj.kent.sch.uk.

If you are able to donate items please see the school calender for donation dates  (Calender Dates).  Items that The Family Food Bank require include:
