ALL CHILDREN in PE kits Friday 13th

Times Tables

We are currently testing mixed times tables daily to increase confidence and speed in the lead up to the national assessment which takes place in June. Please support your child in helping them practice as much as possible at home.

Term 4 Spellings

Please continue to revise at home from the Y3/4 statutory spelling list which we will assess again at the end of term 4, along with a selection of words from the 100 High Frequency words list.

In the mean time, we will be sending spelling sheets home weekly which follow further spelling rules taught in class and will be quizzed weekly on Fridays.

Many thanks.

Home Learning Ideas Term 4

PE continues to be outdoors on Mondays and indoors on Fridays in Term 4 and starts on Monday 24th Feb with Lacrosse. We continue to ask that the children wear full kit to school on these days, which for all children should include a blue school PE T-Shirt and blue or black shorts or tracksuit bottoms. Blue or black 'skins' are permitted to be worn under kit.

No football kits please - the school team may change for Friday club after school.

On 27.02.2020, we were lucky enough to be visited by Alex Chinneck and had a look at his amazing art installations.

For the attention of all Year 4 parents:

Spring Term 1

PE Kit Trial

We are asking the children to come into school in their PE kit Monday and Fridays.

This will waste less learning time and mean more time being active. Per PE lesson, 15 to 20 minutes can be taken up by getting PE kits from the corridor, getting changed, finding 'lost kit', borrowing things for other classes and then getting changed at the end of the lesson.

Wearing their kit will also mean that the Daily Mile will be able to happen more swiftly and be safer as they are wearing appropriate sporting clothes.

It is a trial and we will monitor the impact it is having on the PE lesson and other lessons throughout the day and will review it at the end of this term.

Tribal Tales - Home Learning Ideas Term 3

In class, we are now focusing on spelling rules in line with the Year 4 curriculum. We will be teaching a lesson, the children will be practising daily and we will be testing the children weekly on these words.

Therefore, please practise the 100 high frequency words and Year 3 and 4 spelling words with your children at home as their will be no more teaching time for those words unless they come up in another part of our teaching.
