At Lady Joanna Thornhill (Endowed) Primary School, we challenge all pupils to think about their community, the wider world and their place within it. We provide pupils with a broad curriculum which enables them to explore, question and develop their own understanding as well as show creativity, compassion, respect and resilience – our core values. The aim of our PSHE and RSE sequence of learning follows our Head, Heart and Hand curriculum, we encourage all pupils to be curious and question the world around them so that they can develop an understanding and the skills needed to navigate their futures. We want pupils to be socially aware, develop their social skills and focus on their wellbeing. Through class discussion, assemblies and whole school projects we can focus on not only the Head (academic achievement) but also the Heart (well-being and social skills) and the Hand (being creative and problem solving).
