Wraparound Care

At Lady Joanna we are proud to offer high quality wraparound care to support our families before and after the school day.

 

Whether your child joins us for a bright start to their day or a calm, engaging afternoon, Thornhill Thrive provides a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, space for home learning, and a friendly place to wind down with friends and staff, with a real home from home feel.   A fun environment where children can start and end their day with confidence and joy.

 

We welcome children from Reception to Year 6 offering both Breakfast Club and After School Club during term time.

 

Our Team

Thrive is led by a passionate and experienced team who create a warm and welcoming environment for all children:

Our staff are caring, friendly and committed to make every child feel safe, supported and valued.

 

Breakfast Club – 7:30am to 8:35am

Children can ease into the day in a calm, friendly setting, with time to eat, chat, and enjoy relaxed activities before school begins.

 

Daily breakfast includes:

  • Toast
  • A selection of cereals
  • Yoghurt
  • Fresh fruit
  • Fruit juice & water

End of Term Specials (during the final week of each term)

  • Pancakes
  • Crumpets
  • Pastries

 

We aim to make mornings stress-free for families, whilst ensuring children are nourished and ready to learn.  Please note that breakfast is served until 8:25am 

 

After School Club – 3:15pm to 6:00pm

Our Thrive After School Club offers a balance of fun, relaxation, and support at the end of the day. Children enjoy a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, social time with friends, and a teatime snack.  Children also have the option to complete their home learning in a quiet space, with support if needed.

 

Dietary Requirements

We aim to be a nut-free school  and can cater for:

  • Vegetarian diets
  • Gluten-free and dairy-free needs
  • Allergies and intolerances

Booking Information

Termly bookings 

Termly bookings can be made via ParentPay for regular attendance. At the time of booking, you can select specific days/dates you would like your child to attend. ParentPay requires payment for the selected sessions at the time of booking. If your child is unable to attend for any reason, including attendance at a school club and sickness, you will not be entitled to a refund.

 

Ad hoc bookings

Ad hoc bookings can also be made via ParentPay. We politely request that you give 48 hours’ notice at the time of booking. This notice period is essential for safeguarding purposes and to ensure that the correct staff:child ratio is provided. At the time of booking, you will select specific days/dates which you would like your child to attend. ParentPay requires payment for the selected sessions at the time of booking. If an ad hoc booking is cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, you will not be entitled to a refund.

 

If childcare vouchers are used as the method of payment, these must be paid directly to the school’s bank account and a reconciliation of the funds will take place to secure the booking.

 

In the case of an emergency and if there is an available space, a booking may be made by contacting the school office. Payment for the session is required in advance to secure the place.

 

We aim to be flexible to meet the needs of our families.

 

Please can you add an Activities section (see below) and the section re coats:

 

Our wonderful staff set out various activities each day, but if children wish to play with something else, they can! 

 

Activities include:

  • arts and crafts
  • junk modelling
  • colouring
  • board games
  • lego
  • puzzles
  • book corner
  • traditional outside games
  • imaginative play including dressing up, playing with cars / toy animals / dolls and much more!

 

Children go out in the playground early first thing and late in the afternoon.

  • Movie nights

 

Coats
Please can we politely request that children bring a coat to school, as

If you would like to register your child for a place at Thornhill Thrive, please complete a registration form, read and sign the agreement and return it either to the office, or email Mrs Godden at thrive@ladyj.kent.sch.uk.  Please also use this email address to get in touch if you have any queries, or telephone the school office on 01233  812781.

 

Please be aware that the Thrive mobile is only monitored from 7:30am to 8:30am and 3:15pm to 6:00pm.  The phone is switched off during normal school hours, so all queries should be sent via email.

Also, please note that text messages are not monitored and will not be replied to.
