Lady Joanna Thornhill (Endowed) Primary School

Learning for the Head, Heart and Hand

Term 2

In Term 2 we will be building on our learning about the suffragettes, looking at World War II in our Reading and Writing lessons. This topic will also form the basis of our History learning and will link into our Science and DT project for the term, which will see us creating Anderson shelters with functioning electrical circuits.

We also have a number of exciting events to look forward to in Term 2. These include our World War II workshop morning, "We'll Meet Again", where the children will explore life as a World War II evacuee. There is also bikeability for those children who have signed up mid way through the term. Woodpeckers will have their class assembly towards the end of term and we also have our exciting, and highly secret trip just before the Christmas break!

This term we will also be marking anti-bullying week, as well as celebrating and raising awareness with Children in Need, amongst other key dates and events. A full list of dates for the term can be found on the school newsletter.

Please see our curriculum newsletter below for further details of what we will be covering in Term 2.
