Learning for the Head, Heart and Hand

Year 3

Term 1

 

Fundamentals - Children will continue to develop the skills of balancing, running, jumping, hopping and skipping. They will develop the ability to change direction with balance and control and work at different speeds.

 

Yoga - Children will be focusing on understanding how their bodies move and being able to control their balance and limbs, developing balance, strength and flexibility. Children will develop their own yoga flows, with consideration to how poses are sequenced.

Term 2

 

OAA

Outdoor Adventurous Activities (OAA) allow pupils to develop problem solving skills working independently, as a pair or in a small group. Pupils have the opportunity to plan, solve and improve on strategies. They will orientate a map, identify key symbols and follow routes. Key skills such as inclusion and trust are focused on.

 

Ball Skills

Pupils will develop a variety of ball skills including tracking a ball when dribbling with hands and feet, throwing, catching and kicking.
