Lady Joanna Thornhill (Endowed) Primary School

Learning for the Head, Heart and Hand

14th July 2023

Hello Everyone,

We all had a fantastic time at the disco, it was tremendous fun!

This week we have been finishing off our biography of Lady Joanna. Hopefully you will be able to see all their wonderful work at the open evening on Monday.

We have been exploring fruit and vegetables in D.T. We discovered some surprising fruit, that we previously thought were vegetables and learnt how you define a fruit or vegetable. We tasted ingredients to decide which two fruits and one vegetable we were going to use in the recipe. Some recipes were more successful than others, but most of us loved our smoothie drinks that we had designed.

We have carried exploring our printing this week. Inspired by Kandinsky and Bolotowsky, we used different 2D shapes to create abstract pictures. We also explored the printed images in Aboriginal art and created images of Australian animals using the dotted printing technique.

New Ebooks have been added to everyone's accounts today.  The Little Wandle book the children have been practising is in their book bags.

We didn’t add up our marble challenge this week, but the marbles earnt will be carried over until next week, when we will have our final Fox class count up!

Have a super weekend, it’s nearly the holidays!!!.

Love from the Fox Class.
