Lady Joanna Thornhill (Endowed) Primary School

Learning for the Head, Heart and Hand

Week 2

Hello,

Firstly, thank you to all who came to support us in our class assembly – parents, teachers, and our wonderful Lady J friends. You were a superb audience, and we are immensely proud of ourselves for putting on the show. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

This term in PSHE, we have delved into the exploration of emotions, and our recent class assembly offered a unique opportunity to apply these concepts in a real-world setting. Through a reflective exercise, we considered the emotional dynamics before, during, and after our performance, gaining valuable insights into the significance of teamwork, resilience, and the fulfillment from collective achievement. We truly make a great team!

In Art this week, we have kicked off our exploration of the fundamentals of drawing to boost both confidence and artistic ability. We have explored different lines and shapes, closely examining how these elements come together in a drawing. A particular highlight, which left Mrs. Banner momentarily speechless, was the exquisite drawings of butterflies from our step-by-step drawing activity. The children engaged beautifully, unleashing their creativity. It is clear that we have a class full of artists, not foxes!
