Lady Joanna Thornhill (Endowed) Primary School

Learning for the Head, Heart and Hand

16th June 2023

Hello Everyone,

Goodness, what a week! Very beautiful but very hot!

We have been on the field this week during our afternoon play.  We have really enjoyed it, playing under the trees and lots of us practising our gymnastics on the grass.

In English we have continued to explore poetry.  We have been exploring some nonsense poems.  They have been a lot of fun to say and we have found actions to go with the poems too.

In Maths we have been continuing to practise counting to 100, breaking down numbers into their tens and ones.

We have continued to explore the history of Lady Joanna Thornhill.  We found out she was a Lady of the Bedchamber for Queen Catherine, wife of Charles II.  We discovered what the Lady of the Bedchamber actually does.

We have been looking at the work of Wassily Kandinsky and Ilya Bolotowsky in art.  We developed our own ideas inspired by their pictures.

Our new Little Wandle Ebooks have been posted onto our accounts today, please check them out if you are able.

Our marble challenge this week has been won by the Bucket and Spade team with a score of 21!   Well done to the other teams who did amazingly too!

We hope to see some of you tomorrow at the School Fair, if not have a great weekend.

Love from the Fox Class.
